A man tossed a year-old baby girl down a garbage chute, sending her tumbling down three floors inside a Staten Island building Monday afternoon, cops said.
Police rushed to a seven-story building around 3:13 p.m. near Steuben St. and Wesser Ave. in Park Hill, where the baby suffered a minor abrasion to the torso after she was thrown down the chute by an emotionally disturbed 39-year-old man, cops said.
The baby was taken to Staten Island University North Campus, where she was in stable condition, officials said. She was found by cops three floors below where she was thrown, police sources said.
Cops took the man into custody for questioning; charges were not immediately filed, officials said.
Police described the baby-toss as a domestic incident; the relationship of the man to the little girl was unclear, authorities said.
