Hulk Hogan’s wife reveals ‘health issues’ before sudden death

Hulk Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, is revealing the late professional wrestler had been “dealing with some health issues” before his death on Thursday at age 71.

Daily, who married Hogan in September 2023, posted an emotional tribute to the WWE legend, sharing that his death was “sudden” as she expected him to “overcome” the unspecified condition he was battling.

“I wasn’t ready for this…and my heart is in pieces,” Daily wrote on Instagram Friday. “He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time.”

The 46-year-old went on to address Hogan’s fans, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support her husband received in his final days.

“Hulk loved his fans so much,” she wrote, “and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him.”

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, died from what’s believed to have been cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Fla. First responders took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

His death came following months of his representatives publicly downplaying concerns about his health. Amid online rumors in June that Hogan had been hospitalized and “might not make it,” his rep told E! News there was “no reason to panic.” Just two days before his death, his longtime friend and onscreen manager Jimmy Hart denied he was sick, writing on social media that Hulk’s health was “phenomenal.”

Daily continued her tribute saying the loss has been “impossible to process.”

“To the world, he was a legend…but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart,” she said.

The WWE also took a moment to honor one of their most famous wrestlers of all time.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the organization said in a statement on X. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

A statement posted to Hogan’s Instagram says the 12-time pro wrestling world champion died surrounded by loved ones.

“May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades,” the statement read. “He will be missed, but never forgotten.”
