Small plane crashes into car in Florida; 7 hospitalized

Seven people were hospitalized Monday after a small plane crashed into a car in Florida.

The incident occurred around 4:25 p.m. when the single-engine aircraft clipped some trees, hit the top of a car and crashed into a park about one minute after taking off from Lantana Airport, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

Both people in the plane were taken to the St. Mary’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Five people inside the car, an adult and four children, were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The plane did not catch fire or leak fuel, officials said.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
