Teen found fatally stabbed on roof of garage in Jackson Heights


A 19-year-old man was found fatally stabbed on the roof of a one-story garage in Queens, police said.

Victim Jayson Fernandez was on 93rd St. near 35th Ave. in Jackson Heights at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday when he was attacked, cops said.

After being stabbed in the abdomen, Fernandez ran away and climbed onto the roof of a garage behind a nearby home.

Cops responding to a 911 call found a pool of blood on the street and followed a blood trail to the back garage, where Fernandez was found.

Fernandez was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died. The teen lived in East New York, Brooklyn, about 10 miles from where he was stabbed.

The person who stabbed him remained at large on Friday.

Cops were scouring the area, looking for surveillance footage that could help them identify the stabber.

Investigators were also looking into a possible gang connection to the stabbing, a police source said. The teen has only been arrested once, for turnstile jumping, police said.
