Activists busted during protest at U.S. Immigration court

More than a dozen activists were arrested Wednesday evening during a protest at U.S. Immigration Court in Manhattan, police sources said.

Activists were trying to gain entry inside the court building around 7:50 p.m. — and were blocking vans that they believed were carrying migrant detainees near Varick and King Streets in the West Village — when they were pepper-sprayed by Department of Homeland Security agents, the sources told the Daily News.

Around 22 protestors were busted at the demonstration, the sources said.

The protest came in response to earlier arrests of migrants and observers including a Queens pastor at the Federal Plaza Immigration Court on Worth St. and Federal Plaza.
