Adults slashed by teens after movie confrontation in Rhode Island

Four Rhode Island teenagers are accused of attacking a group of adults who asked them to be quiet during a screening of “A Minecraft Movie” late Tuesday night, authorities said.

The incident took place in Warwick, approximately 12 miles south of downtown Providence, according to local NBC affiliate WJAR.

The teenagers — whose names have not been released due to their ages — allegedly became upset after being asked to quiet down and followed the three adults to their vehicles in the Warwick Mall parking lot after the film.

At that point, two of the adults were slashed with knives, according to officials. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

One victim was wounded in his tricep, while the other was slashed on the forehead, investigators told WJAR.

Warwick police responded to the scene shortly before midnight following reports of a fight. The suspects — identified only as a 14-year-old, two 15-year-olds, and a 16-year-old — were apprehended and taken to the Rhode Island Training School.

They were expected to appear in family court on Wednesday, according to WPRI News 12.
