Actor Alec Baldwin’s sob story about a hulking garbage truck causing him to crash his wife’s car has been backed up by cops in the Hamptons, according to a report.
Baldwin, 67, got into the crash while avoiding a National Waste Services truck that was turning in front of him, said East Hampton Police Department Chief Michael Sarlo in a statement first reported by TMZ.
“There were no injuries reported or summons issued and the contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions,” Sarlo said.
East Hampton Police and National Waste Services representatives didn’t immediately return The Post’s calls for comment.
