All About Golden Globes 2025 host Nikki Glaser

Nikki Glaser is laughing her way to the big stage.

The comedian, 40, has become a fan favorite over the last few years with a slew of incredible gigs, including hosting HBO Max’s “FBoy Island,” delivering a fiery performance on Netflix’s “The Roast of Tom Brady,” and performing her Emmy-nominated stand-up comedy special, “Someday You’ll Die.”

Now, Glaser is set to host the 82nd Annual Golden Globes on January 5 on CBS at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Glaser is taking the stage a year after Jo Koy, who received mixed reviews for his hosting. During the show, Koy, 53, poked fun at Robert De Niro for welcoming his seventh child with partner Tiffany Chen at age 79 along with cracking jokes about the “Barbie” movie.

Although his performance garnered backlash at the time, Koy admitted he didn’t take the criticism well.

“Well, I had fun — you know, it was a moment that I’ll always remember,” the comic said on “GMA3.”

“It’s a tough room. And it was a hard job, I’m not going to lie. Getting that gig, and then having the amount of time that we had to prepare — that was a crash course.”

Leading up to the announcement that Glaser would be hosting the Golden Globes, the television personality revealed that she had pre-show jitters.

“I am nervous to perform in front of all of those A-listers in a bright room,” she told Cara Delevingne during a sit-down for Interview Magazine in November. “Any advice?”

The model responded, “Don’t f – – k it up.”

Glaser cracked back to Delevingne, 32, “Oh, wait, your advice is treat it like I’m having sex with someone who’s never had sex before and I’m way hotter than they are.”

One thing is for sure: this year’s Globes will be one to watch. Keep reading for everything about the host.

Who is hosting the Golden Globes?

The 2025 ceremony will see its first solo host with Nikki Glaser on Jan. 5.

“I’m gonna nail it,” Glaser said about tackling hosting duties during an interview with CBS Mornings last month. “Maybe I won’t nail it in some people’s eyes, but I will have nailed it in my eyes because I have set up a system leading up to it that I couldn’t possibly work harder on it.”

Who is Nikki Glaser?

Glaser got her start doing standup at 18 and toured around the globe for over 15 years.

She starred on her own reality TV show “Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?” on E! in 2022 and launched “The Nikki Glaser Podcast.”

Meanwhile, her performance at “The Roast of Tom Brady” went viral as she didn’t hold back when it came to the athlete’s love life.

“Tom Brady—five-time Superbowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns,” Glaser said during the Netflix special, which debuted in May 2024. “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

What is Nikki Glaser most known for?

Following her performance during the roast, Glaser skyrocketed to comedy fame, also taking shots at many celebrities who attended the taping.

“I mean, I would be disappointed in me if I were Gisele as well,” Glaser told Vanity Fair in an interview published in May. “In my final joke about her, I said, ‘ex-wife.’ I tried not to mention her name as much as possible, but he’s a part of her story. That’s how I rationalize talking about someone who did not ask to be part of this conversation.”

But Glaser had no doubt that her performance would be a hit.

“I knew it would be a big deal,” she said. “But it feels good, because I worked really, really hard. It felt like, okay, I did an A-plus. Like I got back my test and it’s hanging on the refrigerator for a couple days.”

Where is Nikki Glaser from?

The comedy queen hails from St. Louis, Mo., and touched on her Midwestern roots during “Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?” on E!

“The river cabin to me just represents being stuck,” Glaser confessed in a 2022 episode. “A lot of my childhood was spent outdoors when I didn’t want to be. My parents used to make us go camping and canoeing. There’s been so many times, like, standing in a pueblo.”

These days it’s safe to say she’s adjusted to being a California girl, as she still “associates nature with being forced to do things I don’t want to do.”

Who is Nikki Glaser dating?

Glaser embarked on a sobriety journey along with a celibacy one. Two years after she quit drinking, the podcast host met producer Chris Convy on the MTV late-night talk series, “Nikki & Sara Live,” in 2013.

“I went from like hooking up pretty frequently to not kissing anyone, not doing anything,” she explained to Howard Stern in May 2024. “I’m still with the first person that I hooked up with after I quit drinking because I really had to get to know him and really like him and crave him sexually in a way that wasn’t just brought on by being drunk.”

The pair have been on and off for the better part of a decade, with Glaser admitting her part in their ups and downs.

“I thought getting a boyfriend meant just like being agreeable,” she continued. “I never, ever complained about anything … and then I’d air those complaints on podcasts … he eventually heard them and [went], ‘I don’t recognize who this person is.’”

But Convy eventually popped a very important question during her reality show: Would she be his emergency contact?

“Hey, you gotta start somewhere!” Glaser quipped in the episode. “It might not look like it, but this moment is huge for us.”

What has Nikki Glaser said about her age?

The stand-up performer turned 40 on June 1, 2024.

“I am a woman,” Glaser told the audience during her Comedy Central performance in 2018. “But I don’t feel like one most of the time. I’m still feeling like a girl a lot of times. Like I’m still relating to Taylor Swift songs on a level I definitely shouldn’t. But like my back hurts a lot. So I’m like ‘oh, that’s right I can’t shake it off.’”

But aging has a duality to it that she can’t ignore.

“I’m on Snapchat,” the comedian stated, “But, like, I Google bunion surgery every day.”

Days before taking the Globes stage, she revealed she delayed a “really invasive” plastic surgery to host the star-studded show.

“For January 2025, I was going to possibly have, like, a brow lift or some kind of, like, really invasive surgery that I’ve been, you know, looking into getting,” the comedian, 40, told CBS. But, when her agents called her with the opportunity to host the Globes, she recalled that they asked her, “So, this operation, is there any way you could push it ’til maybe the second week of January?’”
