An Amazon driver was shot Tuesday afternoon on a Bronx street, an eyewitness and police sources said.
Cops responded to the scene around 2:37 p.m. at East Tremont and Bryant Aves. in West Farms, where the victim was shot in the ankle.
EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was in stable condition.
An Amazon van that was parked at the scene had a bullet hole next to its right taillight and what looked like possibly a dent from a bullet on its sliding cargo door on the vehicle’s right side. Cops blocked off the scene and were investigating the van. Ballistic evidence was recovered from the scene, sources said.
A small pool of blood was visible inside the rear of the Amazon van, on the floor where the packages are kept.

Cops were looking for two gunmen who took off on foot on East Tremont Ave. and were yet to be apprehended by cops. One of the gunmen was dressed in all black clothing.
It was unclear what sparked the gunfire.
An Amazon spokesperson, in a statement, said, “We’re aware of this terrible incident involving a driver delivering to Amazon customers in the Bronx. It’s our understanding that the driver is recovering and is in stable condition — our team is working with the driver’s employer to support them however we can and cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate.”
An hour later, gunfire erupted just over a mile away in Belmont, where a 26-year-old man was shot twice in the leg in front of a building on Adams Place and East 182nd St. around 3:30 p.m., police said.
EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was expected to survive.
Cops were looking for a man wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and gray pants, who fled north on Adams Place.
