Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes engaged 3 years after rumored affair

Former “Good Morning America” co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes announced their engagement Tuesday, three years after the scandalous affair they denied cost them both their jobs at ABC.

The pair went public with the engagement on their iHeart Radio podcast “Amy & T.J.,” which they launched in December 2023 amid their employer’s internal investigation into their relationship.

“We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged, and we’ve been engaged for just about a month now,” Robach said, while Holmes chimed in that they wanted to let their listeners know “before anybody else was able to.”

“We’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship,” Holmes said, referring to the time they were outed in late 2022, when they were both still technically married to other people.

Colleagues at ABC since 2014, they’d co-hosted what became “GMA3: What You Need to Know” after its 2020 inception under another name during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The publicity surrounding their romance unleashed what Robach termed a “year of hell” — during which they were vilified as adulterers, taken off the air and then axed from the network each had worked at for more than 10 years.

The two also began to date more openly as they finalized their already-in-progress respective divorces, eventually going “Instagram official” in October 2023 and moving in together a year later.

As early as December 2023, they were teasing potential marriage, though each has wed more than once before. Earlier this year, they sparked engagement rumors when Robach was seen flashing a fancy sapphire-and-diamond ring at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards in March. In May, they implied they may have already tied the knot.

On Tuesday, the two promised to eventually divulge details on how the proposal unfolded, but until then, they planned to simply continue “celebrating with family.”
