A man who admitted to killing his stepmother, teen sister and the mother of his two children in a violent rampage in Pennsylvania last year was sentenced Wednesday to three consecutive life sentences.
Andre Gordon Jr. pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder before the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
According to prosecutors, the 27-year-old fatally shot his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and his 13-year-old half-sister, Kera Gordon, in their home in Falls Township, Pa., on March 16, 2024.
He then drove a stolen vehicle to a nearby home, where he fatally shot 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children, in front of their daughters, ages 3 and 5.
All three killings occurred in the Levittown section of Falls Township. Gordon then drove across state lines to Trenton, N.J., where he was later arrested after a standoff.
On Wednesday, prosecutors presented a powerful video compilation that included bodycam and surveillance footage as well as 911 calls from both shooting locations. One 911 recording captures Gordon’s stepmother desperately pleading for help.
“My stepson, he’s the one shooting,” she can be heard saying. “Please, I’ve got children in here!”
“The evidence showed he was hunting in that home,” Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said at a media briefing after the hearing.
“To know that a mom and her 13-year-old daughter were tucked behind the mom’s first-floor office door, locked door, hoping and praying on the phone with 911, just praying for help, it’s heartbreaking,” Schorn added.
In another call, Daniel can be heard urging other people in the house to lock themselves in their rooms while screaming, “He’s got a gun!”
That call ended with screams, gunshots and subsequent silence, followed by the cries of children, one calling for “mommy.”
Judge Raymond McHugh, who also sentenced Gordon to an additional 156 ½ to 313 years in state prison for other crimes committed on that day, said he could “feel the pain” conveyed through the impact statements from the victims’ families and the recordings.
“There are no words to explain why this happened,” McHugh said.
