Ariana Grande was charged at by a fan at the “Wicked: For Good” premiere in Singapore on Thursday, and her co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly rushed to protect her.
In multiple videos going viral on social media, Grande, 32, can be seen walking the red carpet with co-stars Erivo, 38, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum as a man sprints towards them and wraps his arms around Grande.
Grande, who plays Glinda in the film, tried to get away from the crazed person, who smiled and cheered while grabbing the pop star.
Erivo immediately jumped in between Grande and the man to separate them and protect her co-star. Security then intervened and pulled the man away from Grande. Yeoh, 63, could also be seen comforting her.
The “7 Rings” singer looked visibly shaken up by the incident.
The Post has reached out to Grande and Erivo’s reps for comment.
The man who charged at Grande is Johnson Wen, also known as “Pyjama Man” on social media. He posted a video of the incident on his own Instagram account that has 9,000 followers, writing, “@arianagrande @wickedmovie Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You ❤️.”
After the incident, he shared a video of himself on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “I’m free after being arrested.” He wore a “Jesus” shirt in the clip.
Wen is notorious for his behavior at celebrity events, having previously rushed the stage at Katy Perry and The Weeknd’s concerts. He was arrested for the incident at Perry’s show in Australia in June.
In the comments section of Wen’s video, fans blasted him for the incident involving Grande.
“You literally assaulted her. this isn’t a flex, it’s a crime. shame on you!” one person wrote.
“Are you happy now? Does it bring you joy to disturb celebrities? That’s sad,” someone else said.
A third person added, “nobody is ok with your actions. you’re literally harassing her. this is NOT OK.”
“The arianators are going to find you TRUST,” a different comment read, referring to Grande’s loyal fanbase.
“After all the trauma Ari has been through, this is beyond disrespectful,” another person wrote.
In 2017, there was a bombing at Grande’s concert in Manchester, England that left 22 people dead and over 1,000 others injured. Grande dealt with PTSD from the attack.
“It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss,” she told Vogue UK in July 2018.
“But, yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience — like I shouldn’t even say anything.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry,” the “Into You” singer added.
Grande is reprising her role as Glinda in the “Wicked” sequel. She and Erivo were both nominated at the 2025 Academy Awards for the first Jon M. Chu-directed film.
The duo recently gushed over their close bond in an interview with “Today.”
“To be able to act with this one and to share a space and to be a scene partner with you was the greatest privilege of my professional life. Let alone sing with her, the greatest singer in the entire world. I’m spoiled for life,” Grande said about Erivo, who replied, “Thank you. I love you.”
“Wicked: For Good” comes out in theaters Nov. 21.
