Hannah Brown is getting candid on her health journey.
The reality star, 30, revealed on Tuesday that she has been diagnosed with a double uterus.
During a conversation on Maria Menounos’ “Heal Squad” podcast, Brown detailed her condition, which is “present at birth in some women,” per the Mayo Clinic.
The clinic noted that “in a female fetus, the uterus starts out as two small tubes. As the fetus grows, the tubes typically join to create one larger, hollow organ. This organ is the uterus.”
The site also stated that women who have a double uterus can still have successful pregnancies.
“I’m not at the place where I’m ready to have children and I didn’t want to have another thing to add stress but I have a double uterus and I’ve never been told that until this,” Brown confessed to Menounos, 46. “I haven’t done the exploratory surgery to kind of figure out exactly what is going on but there is some risk maybe when I’m ready to have children.”
“It looks like they’re attached in some way,” she added. “So it’s just like a split. She’s going to have to figure out is one bigger than the other? Can one hold a baby? Which one is better? It’s a whole thing.”
Brown admitted that she has so much “going on” at the moment that it isn’t the right time to dive deeper into her diagnosis.
“I don’t need to be stressing about that right now,” the reality star went on, noting that her doctor told her that by 30 she needs to start having some things planned out like freezing her eggs.
“I’m getting married this year,” Brown said. “I will get right on that right after. It can complicate things. There have been cases of people getting having double uterus’ and having babies and being perfectly fine.”
“But it was definitely a shock,” she noted. “A double uterus is not a good thing to have. We will get there when we get there. But to have the knowledge of like this is something you’re going to want to take care of when you’re ready for that time and not be surprised by it is really helpful. It took multiple doctors to get to that.”
When Menounos asked Brown if having kids was the dream, she replied, “I go back and forth. I think I would love to have a child. I don’t want to miss out on that experience but I haven’t been quite ready yet. Which makes sense, I want to get married first.”
“I’ve never been somebody just waiting, waiting, waiting for that to happen,” Brown said, “but I do think I am going to want to have that experience when it’s time.”
Brown rose to fame on Season 23 of “The Bachelor” when she competed for Colton Underwood’s heart.
After not ending up with the former football player, 33, Brown became the next Bachelorette for Season 15. But following the “After the Final Rose” special, she broke off her engagement to Jed Wyatt.
In 2021, Brown started dating her now-fiancé, Adam Woolard, after meeting on a dating app.
The couple adopted a dog together and traveled from California to Nashville to plant roots together in the southern state.
By 2023, the pair was engaged.
“It’s been the accumulation of moments that have made me feel loved and seen and accepted in a way I never have,” Brown told People about falling in love with her other half. “I love his calming presence and big heart. And how he accepts and loves all versions of me…even the crazy version.”
Woolard echoed the former pageant winner’s sentiments, telling the outlet, “If I had to choose one quality I love about her, it would be her authenticity. She lives and acts from the truest part of herself despite outside influence. But also that smile and how she lights up a room.”
