“Tigermilk” hasn’t expired yet.
Nearly 30 years after the release of Belle and Sebastian‘s seminal debut album, Stuart Murdoch’s precious vocals and exquisite arrangements sound just as fresh and urgent as they did once they hit the airwaves in 1996.
Come March 2026, you can hear the critically-beloved ten-track record along with 1998’s follow-up “If You’re Feeling Sinister” on the group’s 30th Anniversary Tour where they’ll perform “Tigermilk” in full one night along with other B&S favorites followed by a second “If You’re Feeling Sinister” performance (featuring more classics from their back catalog) the next evening at almost all venues they hit.
That includes a pair of NYC stops.
Belle and Sebastian are slated to preside over The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23. Diehard B&S fans that can’t wait to hear “Electronic Renaissance” and “Like Dylan in the Movies” live can snag two-day passes here.
As for what the “classic tracks” are that will accompany the cult favorite albums on nights one and two, we don’t have any insider information but would guess “The Boy With The Arab Strap,” “Another Sunny Day,” “Lazy Line Painter Jane” and “Every Day’s A Lesson in Humility” make the cut based on past set lists.
And, no promises but our fingers are crossed they rock “Piazza, New York Catcher” in the Big Apple.
“The high-energy set saw the band in good form, with frontman Stuart Murdoch bouncing (sometimes literally) between keyboard, guitar, and tambourine,” Concert Addicts wrote in a glowing review of a May 2024 concert. “Overall, it was a fun show which served as a reminder of why the band has had so much longevity.”
Fans The Herbaceous Border can purchase tickets for all upcoming North American Belle and Sebastian shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the 30th Anniversary Tour is Friday, Aug. 22.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Stuart Murdoch “Nobody’s Empire” novel
Fans of Stuart Murdoch know his history as an overachieving go-getter who ended up saddled with chronic fatigue in the early ’90s, before the disease had become well-known.
Using that as a jumping-off point, the hyper-literate Scotsman wrote “Nobody’s Empire,” which tells the story of Stephen with “graceful notes, melancholic chords, and witty, thoughtful riffs on life’s infinite possibilities and curiosities,” according to Amazon.

Stream “God Help The Girl”
In 2014, Murdoch released his debut film, the romantic musical drama “God Help The Girl” starring Emily Browning and Olly Alexander.
“One of my top indie gems of the year, charming, enchanting, fun and fancy-free, ‘God Help The Girl’ is a divine intervention,” Behind The Lens raved about the stylish coming-of-age feature.
