Customers at a Connecticut donut shop got an unexpected treat Sunday — finding actress Blake Lively working behind the counter.
The 37-year-old Lively showed up at Rise Doughnut in Wilton in Fairfield County, declaring it her “happy place” in an Instagram stories post, People reported.
“Baking with genius food friends and their kitchen mixer the size of a car,” she wrote. “This is what my happy place looks like….”
Lively “was in a really happy mood,” a source told People, noting that she’s friends with the owner.
The cheery appearance came amid Lively’s legal battle with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. The actress sued Baldoni late last year after filing a sexual harassment complaint in California over his alleged improper conduct on set during filming. She also claimed he had engineered a smear campaign against her after a meeting in which Baldoni was ordered to adjust his behavior.
Baldoni lobbed back with a lawsuit of his own that includes Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane — accusing them of defamation, civil extortion and other offenses. The legal travails have spread to others involved in the movie and its publicity as well.
Most recently Lively filed a motion to dismiss Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit on grounds that it’s fueled by revenge and has no merit.
In February, Lively indicated she was gearing up for a “long year” as she went back to work, with a source telling People, “She knows it will be a long year with continued drama, but she’s just trying to focus on the good things.”
