A 21-year-old man fatally shot in the head as he brought his BMW to a Brooklyn auto shop was a beloved father of three, his distraught longtime friends said.
Joharis Rivas had just rolled his black BMW sedan up to Robel Auto Repair shop on Meserole St. near Union Ave. in Williamsburg when he was shot about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, cops and witnesses said.
“He was a great guy. He had no enemies. Perfect father,” a stunned longtime friend said outside the victim’s Cypress Hills home Wednesday. “Great kids.”
Rivas had three daughters, all under the age of 5, friends said.
“He was a working family man. Loved his kids,” the friend said. “I’ve known him for a long time. I’m very close to his family … It’s heartbreaking.”
The victim exchanged looks with a man on an e-bike who pulled a gun and fired before zipping away, horrified witnesses to the bold daylight killing said.
“They saw each other,” said one witness, who asked to remain anonymous. “As (Rivas) got out of the BMW (the gunman) shot him in the head and ran. It was crazy.”
Police were quickly called to the scene and found Rivas mortally wounded outside the auto repair shop.
Medics rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital but he could not be saved.

One shell casing was recovered at the scene, police sources said. The gunman, who was wearing a black mask and black sweatshirt, has not been caught.
The family friend said he hoped police made a quick arrest.
“If I knew who (did it) I wouldn’t be here right now,” he said, vowing vengeance. “I’d be in jail.”
The fatal shooting took place just steps from the 90th Precinct stationhouse.

About an hour after the killing, the victim’s girlfriend was wailing uncontrollably at the murder scene, witnesses said.
The victim’s parents were too distraught to speak to reporters Wednesday.

The killing marked the first homicide of the year in the 90th precinct. By this time last year, there had already been two murder victims in the neighborhood, NYPD statistics show.
