The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is taking pre-orders for what it believes to be the first ever Zohran Mamdani bobblehead doll.
The figurines cost $30 and are expected to ship in February
“At 34 years old, Mamdani will be the youngest New York City mayor in a century and will become the first Muslim and first Asian American mayor of NYC,” says an order page for the 8-inch figurines.
The Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., boasts a collection of more than 10,000 bobbleheads. Its owners, Brad Novak and Phil Sklar, began collecting the novelty dolls in 2004 and opened their museum in 2019. It features a store that manufactures and customizes bobbleheads.
Figurines available for order include replicas of Senators Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, disgraced former U.S. Rep. George Santos and numerous President Trump miniatures.
Sklar told the Daily News he’s not sure how his latest creation will sell nationally.
“It will be interesting to see the breakdown of how Zohran’s bobbleheads sell between New York and the rest of the country. He has quickly gone from a relatively unknown local politician to someone who people across the country are becoming familiar with,” Sklar said via email.
Zamdani defeated independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa handily in Tuesday’s race, which garnered national attention.
“Zohran clearly captivated a lot of New Yorkers with his message as shown by the election results, and I think we’ll be getting orders from across the country for this bobblehead given the level of attention and excitement he’s been able to generate nationwide,” he said.
Sklar’s store also sells a Cuomo bobblehead, which has sold out, according to the business’s website. Sliwa isn’t among the offerings.
