“BodyPartz” rapper Luci4 is dead at 23.
He died Sunday in a friend’s Los Angeles from causes not yet reported, according to TMZ.
His suspicious grandparents reportedly said the musician, born James Dear, had been running with a crowd that concerned them. His wallet was reportedly empty after his death.
An investigation into Dear’s death began after medics responded to an 11:40 a.m. call. It’s not clear if foul play was a factor.
“BodyPartz” became a 2021 hit that went viral on social media before being going gold in 2024 under the Atlantic records label. The video for the song has been viewed more than 4 million times on YouTube.
Luci4 is credited as a pioneer in the sigilkore music genre, which uses heavy distortion and sometimes references the occult. He sometimes performed under the moniker Axxturel.
His manager Kayla G confirmed the musician’s death on TikTok.
“There’s nobody like him and there never will be,” she wrote in a Monday post asking for privacy for his family and friends.
Luci4 released his album “Vampmania 3” nearly a year ago. He also released several 2026 singles including “Otw,” which came out earlier this month.
