Boy, 13, in critical condition after falling from top of Queens 7 train while subway surfing



A 13-year-old boy was in critical condition after falling from the top of a subway train in Queens Friday morning, police said.

The boy was found lying in the northbound track bed at the 111th Street stop on the No. 7 train. in Corona. Cops were called to the station after the teen fell at 8:17 a.m. and told by witnesses he had been riding on top of the train when he fell.

The boy was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital.

Early Thursday, another young teen was injured while riding on top of a moving bus in Queens.

The 14-year-old boy fell from the Q20 bus in Kew Gardens Hills as it traveled east on Main St., passing 77th Ave at 2:23 a.m., cops said.

He was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park with a broken arm, said police.

Six people, most of them teens, died while subway surfing last year. The youngest was just 11.

In November 2024, a drone assisted the NYPD in arresting two teens who had been riding atop a No. 7 train.
