Boy, 14, killed by gunshot to head while sitting in car on Brooklyn street

A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head as he sat in a car near a Brooklyn intersection, police said Saturday.

Victim Johary Cantave was the second teen to be shot in Brooklyn within four hours on Friday night, cops said.

Johary was sitting in a white Mitsubishi with a friend near the corner of 46th St. and 9th Ave. in Sunset Park at about 11:45 p.m. when a teen on a scooter they knew rolled up and started talking to them, police sources said.

A short time later, three men wearing masks showed up and began arguing with the trio.

At least one of the suspects pulled a gun and opened fire, striking Johary in the head.

His panicked friend threw the car in gear and drove Johary to Maimonides Medical Center, but he couldn’t be saved.

Johary lived in Sunset Park, about seven blocks from where he was shot, cops said.

It was not immediately clear if Johary was the intended target or if the gunman were aiming at his friend or the teen on the scooter.

The three suspects ran off. No arrests have been made.

Cops were scouring the area for surveillance footage that could help them identify the shooter.

At 7:30 p.m. on Friday, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the left shoulder near the corner of Bay Parkway and Kings Highway in Bensonhurst — roughly three miles from where Johary was shot.

The victim was blasted outside an apartment building and was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was treated.

No arrests were made.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the two shootings were connected.
