Boy, 14, shot when bullets fly in Queens park


A 14-year-old boy was shot in the thigh as bullets started flying in a Queens park Friday morning, police said.

The child was in Rufus King Park near the corner of Jamaica Ave. and 150th St. in Jamaica at about 10:30 a.m. when someone opened fire.

The teen was hit in the thigh and was rushed to Northwell Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he was treated and expected to survive.

A police source with knowledge of the case said the victim was “extremely uncooperative” when police questioned him about what happened.

The gunman ran off. No arrests have been made.

Friday’s shooting marks the fourth time in two weeks that someone has been shot either close to or within a city park. The other three shootings were in the Bronx, cops said.
