“I would say both characters, with their initials on my pocket square, will get Seasons in 5 and 6,” she said. “In what order, I can’t say.”

The pocket square had the initials “E” and “F,” referring to Bridgerton sisters Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Francesca (Hannah Dodd).

Based on Julian Quinn’s regency-era romance with the same title, audiences know that the fifth book, “To Sir Phillip, With Love,” focuses on Eloise Bridgerton’s love story, while the sixth book, “When He Was Wicked,” tells Francesca Bridgerton’s story.

However, Season 3 ended with Francesca marrying Lord John Stirling (Victor Alli) and setting off to Scotland at his family’s estate. Francesca’s love story changes after Season 3’s finale, which gender-bends her second love interest — John’s cousin Michael Stirling — into Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza).

“The Bridgerton siblings are doing well. Francesca is now married off, which leaves Eloise in a position where she’s in her mother’s clutches again. Violet is once again trying to put Eloise on the marriage mart. Whereas you have Hyacinth, who is 14 or so, is desperate to debut early, and the two of them get paired together this season for comedic results,” Brownell told RadioTimes.

Viewers have taken to social media about the latest development.

“I thought it would be Francesca because we have seen her story more than Eloise since season 3,” one person wrote on X.

“Why is she acting like this is super secret information. The two other kids are way too young to have seasons yet. They should do Eloise next, but she’s going to do Francesca because she loves to ‘mix it up,’ despite the story hitting harder if they’re together longer,” another person wrote.

“Eloise better be next season, because ain’t waiting 6 more years because of Francesca, sorry, I have waited enough, I want Philip 😫🤧,” wrote another fan of the show.

After Season 2, fans believed Benedict would have been next, with his book, “An Offer from a Gentleman,” which is third in the series, but instead Season 3 focused on Colin and Penelope.

According to Quinn, Netflix does plan to release eight seasons to correspond with the eight main books.

“I know who is scheduled next,” she told Us Weekly in May 2025. “It could always change, like [the order] has changed in the past.”

“My hope is that all the siblings will eventually take the lead because we love them [all]. That was kind of the whole point of the books is that you’ve got these eight separate stories, but they’re all connected,” Quinn continued.

From Shondaland and creator Chris Van Dusen, the heated Netflix regency-era romance series follows the Bridgerton family as eight siblings try to find love in the marriage market in the 1800s. Season 1 followed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page); Season 2 followed Antony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kathani ‘Kate’ Sharma (Simone Ashley), and Season 3 followed Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

Season 4 of “Bridgerton” is a retelling of Cinderella, as fans follow the second-oldest son, Benedict (Luke Thompson), trying to find the mystery woman he met at his mother’s masquerade ball.

His “Lady in Silver,” revealed to be Sophie Beckett ( Yerin Ha), is forced to be a maid in her own house.

Luke Thompson opened up on his experience being the leading man, saying that it was deeply “personal” playing the leading Bridgerton. LIAM DANIEL/NETFLIX

“We’re getting a chance to go downstairs, meet new characters, see new sets, and you really learn a lot about the upstairs characters from their downstairs characters. It’s a good storytelling device for us, for sure,” Brownell said about the upcoming season.

Thompson, 37, opened up about his leading role, saying that it was deeply “personal.”

“I did want to … just work it out myself. I think you only really learn properly by making a few mistakes along the way – and so, actually, I did,” Thompson told News.com.au. “It’s such a personal experience that you sort of shape yourself, and different actors feel different pressures. So I tried to sort of make my own way through it.”

Thompson also spoke about his chemistry with Ha, 27, when it came to a scene where the pair fly a kite together away from society, calling it beautiful. LIAM DANIEL/NETFLIX

Thompson also spoke about his chemistry with Ha, 27, when it came to a scene where the pair fly a kite together away from society.

“It was beautiful, because I feel like it was a nice parallel in terms of for Sophie … she’s letting her walls down in that scene. And it was also a confirmation of like, ‘Oh, I can let my walls down, too,’” Thompson said.

Season 4: Part 1 of “Bridgerton” will air on January 29, and Part 2 will air on February 26 on Netflix.
