A NYCHA apartment building in the Bronx partially collapsed Wednesday morning, Oct. 1, 2025, following a gas explosion. The incinerator shaft running along the 20-story Mitchel Houses building in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx around 8:15 a.m., causing brick and mortar to rain down on the street below. No injuries were reported in the blast.
