Brooklyn drunk driver hurts 2 passengers, 2 NYPD cops in chain-reaction crash

A drunk driver crashed into an SUV in Brooklyn early Sunday, sparking a chain-reaction crash that left two of his passenger and two NYPD cops hurt, police sources said.

The intoxicated 24-year-old driver of a black 2024 Chevrolet Suburban was zipping north on Coney Island Ave. in Sheepshead Bay when he slammed into a 2022 Volvo XC90 headed west on Avenue U about 2:10 a.m., cops said.

The impact sent the Volvo, driven by a 34-year-old woman, into the path of a marked NYPD car going south on Coney Island Ave., causing the two vehicles to collide, cops said.

One of the Chevrolet’s two passengers was ejected from the vehicle and was in critical condition at the scene but later stabilized at a local hospital, cops said. The other passenger suffered minor injuries.
