Brooklyn public school principal busted for DWI after vehicle overturns in crash

A Brooklyn public school principal was busted on drunk driving charges after he slammed into several cars, flipping his own vehicle upside down, police said Tuesday.

Gregory Jackson, the head of the Brownsville Collaborative Middle School for Agriculture and Technology, told police he only had one drink when he was pulled from his flipped-over car in East Flatbush.

Jackson, 50, is the son of the late Gregory “Jocko” Jackson Sr., known as the “Mayor of Brownsville,” who played basketball for various NBA teams, including briefly the Knicks, before becoming the longtime manager of the Brownsville Recreation Center.

Jackson was rolling down Lenox Road when he veered out of control, slamming into several parked cars near Utica Ave. before overturning about 11:30 p.m. Monday, cops said. He refused to take a Breathalyzer test at the scene, cops said.

Cops charged him with driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test.

Jackson earned $186,000 last year as principal of the Brownsville school, according to the website SeethruNY.net.

He grew up in Brownsville and has been the principal of the Brownsville school since 2017.

His arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending on Tuesday. A city Department of Education referred all calls about the arrest to the NYPD.
