Carín León just set the “Primera Citas” for a historic series of shows.
Come September 2026, the popular Mexican singer-songwriter will become the first Latinx performer to headline at Las Vegas Sphere.
His short three-concert stint at the visually-spectacular venue is scheduled to take place Sept. 11-13, 2026, which coincides with Las Vegas’ Mexican Independence Day.
“From Hermosillo to the world,” the Grammy winner shared en Español via Instagram. “Thanks to everyone who joined us to witness this news!”
“With music, we always try to make as much of an impression as possible,” he added in an announcement at Wynn Las Vegas. “What I want is for everyone to get into my brain. I want you to see what I think, go on a tour through Hermosillo, a tour of all of the musical contrasts I’ve had, of the smells and many climates, and through everything that reminds me of my Hermosillo — what it is to navigate a bit of who is Óscar, who is Carín.”
These gigs come in the wake of a flurry of new music from the prolific 36-year-old. In the past year alone, he’s released over 20 singles, re-released his live album “Palabra De To’s” and put on a soulful NPR Tiny Desk concert in addition to headlining at arenas all over the world on his ‘Boca Chueca Tour’ and lending his talents to a number of festivals.
While on the road, León didn’t skimp on the hits.
Based on our findings at Set List FM, the “QUE VUELVAS” singer delivered an expansive 45-song set at a Mexico City show last December.
“León’s sound is an effortless mix of traditional Mexican music, from mariachi to norteño, with elements of gospel, country, rock and classic soul,” The Arizona Republic wrote in a rave review of a September 2024 show of his at Phoenix’s Footprint Center (now PHX Arena). “He’s all over the map but with a clarity of vision that holds it all together.”
