Carlos Santana hospitalized after ‘medical emergency’ during concert sound check: report

Carlos Santana was hospitalized after suffering a “medical emergency” as he prepared for a concert in Texas on Tuesday, according to a new report.

A rep for Santana, 77, told TMZ that the legendary guitarist was at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, Tex. when he suffered the medical emergency, which they suspected was dehydration.

Santana was transported to a San Antonio hospital, where he remained under observation as of early Tuesday evening, per the rep, who added that the star is “doing well.”

Tuesday night’s concert was cancelled as a result of Santana’s health scare.

The 10-time Grammy winner plans to reschedule soon and looks forward to returning to San Antonio and continuing his US tour, his rep also shared.

Eyewitnesses told TMZ that the incident happened during a sound check and the musician was taken out on a gurney before being put into an ambulance.

A rep for Santana did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Santana is currently scheduled to perform on Wednesday in Sugar Land, Tex.

In January, the Rock and Roll of Famer postponed part of his residency at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas because of an “accidental fall” at his home in Hawaii.

“I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai. He took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand,” Michael Vrionis, President of Universal Tone Management, said at the time.

“He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully,” Vrionis added.

“Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal. Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”

This is a developing story.
