The last-known footage of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, captured shortly before the teen’s disappearance in early 2024, is circulating amid the investigation into her death after her dismembered body was found in the impounded Tesla belonging to singer D4vd.
The 78-second clip from March 19, 2024, obtained by TMZ from a California liquor store, begins around 7 a.m. and shows an individual wearing white sweats and a black hoodie alternating between walking and running through a neighborhood in Lake Elsinore, about 75 miles southeast of where her remains were discovered in Los Angeles.
Rivas, whose sister reportedly confirmed it’s her in the video, continues to switch from walking to a brief jog as she rounds the corner near a roadway, as seen in footage from another camera. A third angle from the liquor store shows Rivas walking by, just before 7 a.m. local time.
Rivas’ sister headed into the store that day to ask whether there was any footage of the then-13-year-old runaway, Dellago Spirits owner Elie Naddaf told TMZ.
Rivas reportedly first ran away two months earlier, but was brought home after police located her in Hollywood. Law enforcement sources told TMZ she’d run away due to a “troubled home,” while Rivas’ former teacher said it was only after she connected with D4vd on social media.
Last week, the remains found in the Tesla belonging to the 20-year-old “Romantic Homicide” singer — real name David Burke — were identified as belonging to Rivas, whose mother said she had a boyfriend named David. Her remains have since been returned to her family.
Amid the investigation, L.A. authorities seized a computer from a home where the Queens-born artist was staying. The residence had reportedly been rented by his manager.
D4vd was on the U.S. leg of his world tour when Rivas’ decomposing remains were found in his impounded vehicle earlier this month, days after it had been abandoned and then towed. His remaining U.S. and European dates, which were scheduled to run through November, have all since been canceled.
