Chanel Maya Banks, the “Gossip Girl” actress who refuted her family’s claims that she had gone missing last month, has reportedly filed a restraining order against her mother and cousin.
Banks, 36, submitted the restraining order request in a Los Angeles court on Thursday, according to TMZ.
Per the outlet, the actress’ filing alleges her mom, Lutchmin Judy Kumar, and cousin, Danielle Singh, have worked in tandem to harass her and destroy her credibility.
Banks claims she told Kumar and Singh in October that she wanted distance from them but that the pair have repeatedly attempted to make unwanted contact with her.
The “Blue Bloods” star also states that her mother and cousin reported her as a missing person to Los Angeles police and asked officers to perform a wellness check on her.
After Kumar and Singh allegedly continued their attempts at contacting Banks, the actress’ husband, Carlos, reportedly informed them that she was fine and didn’t wish to speak with either of them.
The “Gossip Girl” star claims that she has copies of text messages her mom and cousin allegedly sent that show they reportedly threatened to “weaponize the police” against her, per the restraining order request.
Banks, who played Sawyer Bennett on the hit CW show, also claims that Kumar and Singh broke into her apartment on Nov. 10 while she was out of town, allegedly attacked Carlos, stole his work badge and placed an Apple AirTag on her car to track her. Banks says she filed police reports about the alleged incidents.
According to TMZ, Banks went on to allege that her mom and cousin accused Carlos of murder and insisted Banks needed to be placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.
Banks asked the court to block Kumar and Singh from contacting her both physically and electronically and ban them from speaking about her publicly.
Sources close to the family denied all allegations of wrongdoing — especially Banks’ claim that anyone ever assaulted Carlos.
Her mom and cousin incited national concern last month over Banks’ whereabouts after speaking with Los Angeles area news outlets. Two weeks after they reported her missing, she was located in Texas.
In a surprising twist of events, Banks then declared on Instagram that she was never actually missing. The actress said she was running away from her family to be baptized by Pastor Robert Clancey, who recently preached about the “end times.”
“I have met with the police and verified that not only am I OK, but I’m finally free,” she wrote in her post.
The following day, Banks posted a YouTube video teasing a tell-all interview after her family claimed she was still missing and being imitated by an imposter.
“As you can see, I am alive,” she said.
