Chris Pratt pitched Batman role to James Gunn — and was brutally shut down

Chris Pratt pitched himself as Batman to new DC studio head James Gunn – and it didn’t go well.

Perhaps that’s because the “Parks and Recreation” alum sent Gunn a photo of himself with the Batman mask photoshopped on his face.

“I did it in photoshop and [James] just said, ‘Haha,’” Pratt, 46, said. “It’s safe to say I am not going to be Batman.”

Gunn’s version of the DC universe has seen him doing his own version of superhero flicks for iconic characters like Superman, now played by David Corenswet (replacing Henry Cavill, after Gunn took over in 2022).

In the new DC era helmed by Gunn, new Wonder Woman and Batman actors haven’t been announced yet, but it will reportedly be called “The Brave and the Bold.” Gunn previously confirmed that Robert Pattinson will not be his Batman. A second movie for Pattinson’s Batman is scheduled to start filming in the spring, but Gunn has said it will be separate from his world.

Pratt famously starred as Star Lord in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, in the Marvel universe.

“I’m happy to do anything they want me to do and will,” he said about Marvel. “And also, I personally have a really strong vision of what I would want him to do. And I think it’s f–king great.”

“Avengers: Doomsday,” which is expected in December, will see several big Marvel stars returning, including Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans returning as “Captain America,” despite previously stating that he was finished.

It hasn’t been announced if Star Lord will be among the returning characters.

The “Jurassic World” actor said, “I think that, you know, I’m down to contribute any way I can to them setting up the next 10 years of storytelling, you know? And also, I have a pretty strong idea of how I think I could contribute to that.”

When asked who he would want to direct another movie featuring Star Lord, Pratt said, “In a dream world, it would be somehow James,” referring to Gunn.

“But I don’t think that’s likely to happen. So I’d have to think about who would be the right director. There are amazing directors out there.”
