Chuck Norris has revealed his mother, Wilma, has died at the age of 103.
The “Walker, Texas Ranger” star announced his mom’s death in a post on Instagram Friday.
Norris, 84, shared a series of photos with his mother and said she passed away earlier this week.
“Wednesday morning, my brother Aaron and I’s wonderful mother went home to be with Jesus,” Norris captioned his post. “Our mom was a woman of unwavering faith, a beacon of light in our lives, and her love reflected God’s grace.”
“Growing up, her laughter filled our home with joy, and her hugs provided a sense of safety that we will forever cherish.”
Norris continued, “She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel special, often putting the needs of others before her own. From my earliest memories, she taught me the importance of kindness and compassion.”
“I am so thankful for the countless lessons she shared, the prayers she lifted for us, and the way she embodied the love of Christ every day.”
The star signed the post, “We love you, Mom. Until we meet again.”
Last year, Norris celebrated his mom’s birthday on Facebook, writing that she was “so full of life that she might make it another 100 years!”
He added that he was “overwhelmed with gratitude to God” for his mother and “wouldn’t be the man I am” without her.
Wilma penned an autobiography in 2011 titled, “Acts of Kindness: My Story,” in which she shared stories about her life and her son’s childhood. She promoted the book on former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s former Fox News show.
Wilma Norris Knight was born on May 24, 1921, in Wilson, Oklahoma, and had a difficult start in life.
“She was raised in abject poverty, and she was given away as a ward of the state when she was only 8 years old,” Norris wrote in a 2021 article for World Net Daily. “She was treated for two years for a rare disease, living away from the family in a children’s hospital.”
Wilma married Norris’ father, Ray, when she was only 16. The couple had three boys, the actor — born Carlos Ray Norris — and his two younger brothers, Wieland and Aaron. Wieland died in Vietnam.
After Wilma “was abandoned to raise her three boys all alone,” she divorced Ray. She took the boys from Oklahoma and relocated to Prairie Village, Kansas, before moving to Torrance, California.
