Cops investigate suspicious powder at Manhattan Criminal Courthouse


First responders are investigating an incident concerning a suspicious powder that was released inside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse.

Firefighters were on standby as cops responded around 4:24 p.m. to the courthouse, near Centre St. and Hogan Place in Lower Manhattan, according to the FDNY.

There were no reported injuries in connection with the incident, FDNY said.

A white substance was reportedly found in an envelope sent to the building, leading to potential exposure of seven people, according to NBC News. As a precaution, the seven individuals were attended to by emergency crews.

Road closures and traffic delays were expected as first responders investigate the scene.
