Cops looking for driver who fatally struck man on Brooklyn street

A driver struck and killed a 47-year-old pedestrian crossing a Brooklyn street, then left the scene, police said Sunday.

The crash happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday on Broadway and Suydam St., at the Bedford-Stuyvesant-Bushwick border, cops said.

Police found the man dead at the scene, then determined that an unknown vehicle struck him while heading north on Broadway.

Early reports suggest the vehicle might have been a garbage truck, cops sources said.

Police were still looking for the driver Sunday, and have not yet released the victim’s name pending family notification.
