‘County Rescue’ actor Keller Fornes dead at 32



Keller Fornes, star of the Great American Family show “Country Rescue,” has died. He was 32.

Fornes passed away on December 19, 2024 in Eastland, Texas, according to his obituary.

A memorial service for the actor will take place January 11 at Cowboy Church of Erath County in Stephenville, TX.

Great American Media released a statement about Fornes’ death on Jan. 6.

“We at Great American Media are deeply saddened by the passing of Keller Fornes,” the Texas-based company wrote on Instagram. “He was a special person and talent as an actor, writer, and director as well as a singer and musician.”

“His energy and enthusiasm lifted all he worked with here at Great American Media and the cast and crew of County Rescue. Our prayers are with his family and all those he touched,” the statement added.

The tribute included a photo of Fornes that read, “In loving memory of Keller Fornes.”

Several stars reacted to the tragic news of Fornes’ death in the comments section.

Candace Cameron Bure, who took on an executive role at the network after leaving Hallmark Channel in 2022, wrote a broken heart emoji and a praying hands emoji.

“American Idol” alum Colton Dixon commented, “We only met briefly during my work on County Rescue, but he was incredibly kind and purposeful with his words. Prayers for his friends and family.”

Fornes was born in Lubbock, Texas, on April 22, 1992.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts at the University of North Texas. He moved to Georgia to begin his career in film.

In 2024, Fornes began his role as Griffin in “Country Rescue.” The medical drama series follows a group of EMTs in training.

The show is set to begin production on Season 2 this month, according to a July 2024 Great American Media press release.

Some of Fornes’ co-stars spoke out on social media in the wake of his death.

Lead star Julia Reilly shared Great American Media’s statement on her IG Stories alongside a photo of the pair. “Miss you,” the actress wrote.

Kristin Wollett shared her own tribute with a montage of photos and videos of Fornes on the set of the show. “In our hearts. Always. 🤍 Keller Scott Fornes 🤍,” she wrote in her caption.

In addition to “Country Rescue,” Fornes made appearances in the shows “The Walking Dead,” “Genius” and “Found,” as well as the films “Origin,” “Beast Beast” and “Somnium.”

Fornes’ obituary noted that he wrote, produced and starred in his own independent films. He also “enjoyed painting, drawing, singing and playing the guitar.”

The late star is survived by his wife, Margie; his parents; and two brothers.
