A police-involved shooting in Bridgeport, Conn., resulted in “critical injuries” Monday evening.
An unidentified male victim was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital around 6 p.m., according to News 12.
Details of the shooting, which reportedly occurred on Bridgeport’s East Side, weren’t immediately shared by authorities. News 12 said people at the site of the shooting were crying and shouting at officers. The crime scene reportedly spanned several blocks and shutdown traffic for hours before a heavy rainfall began.
The case is being handled by Connecticut Inspector General, which hadn’t responded to a request for comment late Monday. State and local police couldn’t immediately be reached.
