Blake Lively’s “happy place” is under investigation following a recent visit from the actress.
The 37-year-old surprised fans on Sunday when she popped up behind the counter at Rise Doughnuts in Wilton, Conn., documenting the moment on Instagram.
“Baking with genius food friends and their kitchen mixer the size of a car. This is what my happy place looks like,” she wrote in an Instagram Story, promoting the donut shop owned by her friends.
But while some were excited to see the actress working behind the counter and putting out the sweet treats, others called out the fact that Lively was not wearing a hairnet nor did she tie her hair back. The food safety issue prompted multiple complaints to the local health department, as well as online.
A spokesperson for the Wilton Health Department confirmed to TMZ the matter was under investigation, while the donut shop’s Yelp page has been temporarily disabled due to a flood of negative reviews following Lively’s appearance.
“This business recently received increased public attention, which often means people come to this page to post their views on the news,” the site said in an alert on the page. “While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we’ve temporarily disabled the posting of content to this page as we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual consumer experiences rather than the recent events.”
The flurry of one-star reviews and outsized attention to Lively’s food safety shortcomings comes in the midst of her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her director and co-star in “It Ends With Us.”
The actress in December filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and an organized a smear campaign against her.
Weeks later, Baldoni countersued Lively — as well as her husband Ryan Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane — claiming defamation, civil extortion and other offenses while seeking $400 million in damages.
Lively filed a motion last month to dismiss Baldoni’s suit, saying it was done for revenge and is therefore illegal. The dueling lawsuits are currently slated to head to trial next March.
