Danny Masterson’s ex files to change their daughter’s last name

Danny Masterson’s ex-wife, Bijou Phillips, has reportedly called on a court to drop the convicted rapist‘s last name from that of their young daughter.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the model and actress wants to legally change 11-year-old Fianna Masterson’s name to Fianna Phillips, further cutting ties with the disgraced “That ’70s Show” alum.

Phillips is still waiting for a judge to approve the request, but she scored a win on Friday when a judge declared the estranged spouses legally single.

Phillips had filed for divorce in September 2023, less than two weeks after Masterson was sentenced to prison for two counts of forcible rape.

The 49-year-old is currently serving 30 years to life behind bars after he was found guilty of raping two women in his Hollywood-area home in 2003, amid the height of his sitcom fame.

The Scientologist was also accused of having raped a former girlfriend, a count that was ultimately dismissed without a unanimous jury verdict. Masterson’s conviction followed a mistrial the previous year.

Masterson and Phillips began dating in 2004 and married in 2011. They became parents with the arrival of Fianna in 2014.

Upon Phillips’ divorce filing, her lawyer told TMZ that “her priority remains with her daughter.”

“This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family,” the statement read. “Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Mrs. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.”

By October 2023, Masterson signed over full legal and physical custody of Fianna to Phillips, who also requested the court award her spousal support. Phillips also sought to “terminate the court’s ability to grant support” to the actor.
