‘Dateline’ reacts to Kristen Bell’s ‘tone-deaf’ anniversary post to Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell may have found her next TV gig.

The “Nobody Wants This” actress, 45, caught the attention of “Dateline” after she posted an anniversary tribute to husband Dax Shepard that was deemed “tone-deaf.”

Alongside a photo of the couple hugging, Bell wrote, “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would’ ❤️.”

“Dateline” commented on Bell’s Instagram post, “Screenshotted.”

The true crime news program’s response got over 39,000 likes and hundreds of replies. The long-running franchise was created in 1992 and features in-depth investigations into cold cases and human interest stories.

“Best comment award,” one person wrote.

“Savage,” another person replied.

“You win the internet today,” a third user noted.

Someone else wrote, “Whoever you are running this account, you deserve a raise.”

“10/10 social team honestly no one does it better,” a different person wrote.

Bell’s message to Shepard, 50, elicited intense backlash in the comments section of her post, with many critics accusing her of downplaying domestic violence.

“Just an fyi, posting this caption during domestic violence awareness month is unbelievably tone deaf :/ please reconsider,” one of Bell’s followers said.

“Please don’t joke about domestic violence. Please keep in mind that this is something real that lots of people suffer on a daily basis,” a different person wrote.

Someone else said, “How can any self respecting woman stay with a man who ‘jokes’ like that? I’m not even a very serious person, but that would have me leaving so fast your head would spin.”

The Post has reached out to Bell and Shepard’s reps for comment.

Bell and Shepard have been married since Oct. 2013. They share daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.

Last week, Bell forgot that her anniversary to the “Armchair Expert” podcast host was coming up.

“Is… the… oh my God, it’s my anniversary!” she said to an Entertainment Tonight reporter at the “Nobody Wants This” Season 2 red carpet premiere. “You know I don’t remember that. Oh shoot, I’m so glad that you told me.”

“It helps that he doesn’t remember, either,” Bell added of Shepard. “And no one’s at fault here, right? We’re just not great with dates.”

In Feb. Bell shared the secret to her long-lasting marriage.

“Even if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he’s committed to our family,” she told E! News. “I know he’s coming home. I know he loves our children. I know he strives to be a great husband and father.”
