Dead naked woman left on Harlem sidewalk in garbage bag victim of suspected OD

A woman whose naked corpse was found stuffed in a black plastic trash bag wrapped in a green laundry bag on a Harlem sidewalk has been identified as a homeless woman who is suspected of having died from a drug overdose, police said Thursday.

Bonnie Schulman-Rice’s body was found by a man collecting cans under the elevated Metro-North tracks near E. 124th St. and Park Ave. about 6:30 p.m. Monday, cops said. She was 35 and homeless, according to cops.

“It was some random person looking for bottles in the trash,” a police source said of the man who made the disturbing discovery. “He felt the bag and realized it wasn’t bottles.”

The man who found the body alerted MTA police, who contacted the NYPD.

While some blood was found at the scene and it initially appeared that the woman suffered a head injury, NYPD detectives later determined the woman likely died from an overdose, a police source said.

The city Medical Examiner’s office said her cause of death has not been determined as additional tests are performed.

Cops are still trying to find the person who put her body in the trash bag and left her corpse among several other garbage bags.

Detectives scoured the area for surveillance footage that could help them figure out who left the body on the sidewalk, officials said.
