‘Deadliest Catch’ star Todd Meadows dead at 25

“Deadliest Catch” star Todd Meadows died last week in an incident at sea. He was 25 years old.

Aleutian Lady captain Rick Shelford wrote in a Facebook post that the incident happened Feb. 25 while the ship was crab fishing on the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska.

“Todd was the newest member of our crew, he quickly became family. His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone’s respect right away,” Shelford wrote. “His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always.

“Todd’s love for his children, his family, and his life was evident in everything he did. He worked hard, loved deeply, and brought joy to those around him,” he added.

According to TMZ, the death occurred while a film crew was on the ship but it’s unknown whether Meadows’ incident was captured by cameras.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Todd Meadows,” a spokesperson for Discovery Channel told the gossip site. “This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with his loved ones, his crewmates, and the entire fishing community during this incredibly difficult time.”

“Deadliest Catch” premiered on the network in 2005, with season 21 concluding last year.
