Death of Bronx man, 26, a week after he’s punched in face ruled a homicide

The death of a 26-year-old Bronx man who was punched in the face last month and died was ruled a homicide, police said Wednesday.

Jahlil Jackson succumbed to his injuries a week after he was punched in the face on Aug. 25 around 2:10 a.m. in front of a building near E. 181st St. and Grand Concourse in Fordham. The attack caused Jackson to fall and hit the pavement.

Jackson was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital by private means where he later died on Sept. 1.

The city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide. Police continue to search for Jackson’s attacker.

Jackson lived in Morris Heights, several blocks away from where he was punched, cops said.
