Decomposing remains found stuffed in garbage bag near Queens highway ID’d as Christina Purdie, 27

A decomposing body found stuffed in a garbage bag and dumped on the side of a Queens highway in August has been identified as 27-year-old Brooklyn resident Christina Purdie, cops announced Thursday.

Purdie’s remains were discovered by a city Department of Transportation worker just off the Jackie Robinson Parkway near Vermont Place and Highland Park on Aug. 6.

She lived on Kenilworth Place near Farragut Road in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, cops said.

Investigators initially struggled to identify the victim, whose remains were badly decomposed, and released a description of her body in an effort to identify her.

Cops said she was either Black or Hispanic, between 4-feet-5 and 5-feet-2, with dark brown, curly hair with bleached ends and a rose tattoo on her upper left buttocks.

Police also found a ring with a small heart-shaped purple stone and a barbell piercing on the woman’s body.

In hopes of identifying human remains, police released an image of a tattoo as well as two pieces of jewlery. The remains were found inside a garbage bag in Queens. (NYPD)

An NYPD spokesman could not immediately say how Purdie’s remains were identified or how she died.
