Dem megadonor Alex Soros says Trump won presidency because he was ‘underestimated’

The son of far-left Democratic billionaire kingmaker George Soros said President-elect Donald Trump beat Vice President Kamala Harris because he’s a “super candidate” his party underrated.

“Too many Democrats are fighting each other over campaign tactics because it is easier than accepting that Trump was underestimated as a candidate,” Alex Soros, 39, wrote on X Friday.

“He was a ‘super candidate’ with increasing appeal to a broader electorate — likely beyond the reach of both Democrats and Republicans.

“The president-elect outperformed Republicans across the country this year,” he added.

The younger Soros and megadonor to lefty causes and candidates got the “super candidate” line from a statement made by Republican strategist Alex Stroman.

“Candidates matter, and that’s the most important thing. Donald Trump is a super candidate and is finally maybe getting recognition for that,” he told political news site NOTUS.

Billionaire Elon Musk, who was recently tapped to co-lead the incoming Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), said he agreed with Soros’ remarks.

“The public also believes in his platform and rejected the far left ideology of the current Democratic Party,” added Musk on X, which he owns.

“If the Democrats become more centrist and shift towards the values and beliefs of the people, they will do better in the future.”

The Soros family poured at least $60 million into Democratic races this year and endorsed President Biden in his re-election bid, and later backed Harris after the 81-year-old was pushed out of the race.

Trump handily beat Harris 312-226 in the Electoral College to win a second term, and he also won the popular vote for the first time in his three runs for president.
