Diamond Tankard accused of attacking woman with rock-filled sock

Diamond Tankard, a music heiress and former reality TV star, has been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking a woman with a rock-filled sock at a Walmart in Nashville, Tenn.

Tankard, 21, was arrested last Friday and charged the following day with theft of property and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to court records obtained Tuesday by USA Today.

The victim reportedly told police she was in the self-checkout line at Walmart when Tankard came up behind her, “grabbed her by the hair (and) began to assault her.” Tankard then allegedly took the woman’s $1,500 iPhone and her $900 Louis Vuitton handbag before fleeing the scene.

The unidentified victim’s grandmother, who witnessed the attack, told police the suspect used a sock filled with rocks to carry out the attack. Surveillance video later corroborated the women’s description of events.

The victim, who required stitches for cuts above her eye, later identified Tankard from a photo of the footage. It’s unclear if Tankard and the victim know each other.

Tankard posted $25,000 bond and is due back in court on Aug. 22, according to Davidson County inmate records.

Friday’s alleged assault was not the first time Tankard has found herself in trouble with the law. According to Nashville’s WSMV, she was charged with attempted first-degree murder last year after police say she intentionally struck a woman with her vehicle in November.

As a child, Tankard appeared on Bravo’s “Thicker Than Water” from 2013 to 2016. The show followed her grandfather, gospel jazz producer Ben Tankard, and his family. Ben is a pastor at the Destiny Center, a church in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
