Diddy could lose phone, commissary privileges for unauthorized call

Sean “Diddy” Combs is already making a name for himself behind bars as the disgraced mogul faces disciplinary action for an unsanctioned three-way phone call in a New Jersey federal prison.

If officials at FCI Fort Dix have their way, the Bad Boy Records founder — who was convicted over the summer for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and is at the start of his four-year sentence — could lose three months’ worth of phone and commissary privileges, CBS News reports.

Combs, 56, was speaking with an unidentified woman on Nov. 3 when he told her he wanted to talk about blogs with “the digital person,” per documents obtained by the outlet. He then encouraged her to get that person on the call.

Diddy advised that his weekend visitors bring “200 singles” — though the prison reportedly only permits visitors to bring coins rather than cash — before a man, whose name is also unknown, hopped on the call.

“It was a procedural call initiated by one of his attorneys and was protected under attorney client privilege. There was nothing improper,” Combs’ publicist, Juda Engelmayer, told the outlet.

Combs’ camp says the call revolved around a statement he wanted to send to The New York Times, and that the other individuals were his lawyer and head of legal communications. He also alleges he was unaware of the rule against multi-party calls.

Even while calls involving more than two parties can prove benign, prisons prohibit such communications because some inmates use them to organize crimes like witness intimidation or drug smuggling.

“This is a serious offense that shows a disregard for the rules,” an insider told CBS.

Combs, who is supposedly sober, began serving time last month at the low-security prison, where he is working in the laundry room and housed in the Residential Drug Abuse Treatment (RDAP) unit, which can sometimes cut short sentences by up to a year.

His special housing was reportedly in jeopardy last week when TMZ reported Diddy was caught with homemade booze.

A rep for the fallen entrepreneur on Sunday dismissed the “false and reckless reports,”insisting Combs has not violated any prison rules.”
