The DNA of Suzanne Simpson, a mother and luxury real estate agent who disappeared after a private dinner party in Texas two months ago, was discovered on a motorized reciprocating handsaw that her husband attempted to hide from police, according to reports.
Simpson was last seen on Oct. 6 outside her home in the San Antonio suburb of Olmos Park after returning from a birthday party at the Argyle, a swanky members-only spot in Alamo Heights, according to the Department of Public Safety. Days later, her husband, real estate tycoon Brad Simpson, was arrested on family violence and unlawful restraint charges before he was ultimately charged with his wife’s murder and other crimes, including evidence tampering.
“On or about October 8th, 2024, Brad Chandler Simpson did then and there, knowing that an investigation was in progress, namely a missing persons investigation, conceal a thing, namely a reciprocating saw, with the intent to impair its availability as evidence in the investigation,” according to an indictment handed down earlier this week.
Family members on Thursday confirmed to Ken5 that authorities found Simpson’s DNA on the saw.
The indictment further accuses Brad Simpson of committing a crime, “namely a murder, alter, destroy, and conceal a human corpse” with the intent to hinder the investigation into wife’s death. It does not, however, say how Brad Simpson killed his wife or where he stashed her body, which still has not been found.
Steven Gilmore, his public defender, has argued those missing details should render the indictment against his client null and void.
