A Domino’s Pizza store exploded outside Salt Lake City after a three-car crash ruptured a nearby gas line, authorities said Sunday.
Three people were injured in the late Saturday crash and subsequent explosion in Herriman, the local fire department wrote in an Instagram post.
The moment the roof of the Domino’s building was blown sky high was captured on social media video. The clip shows a fire burning inside the store before the sudden explosion tears the roof off.

“As fire crews began suppression efforts, a powerful explosion destroyed one business and caused significant damage to two others,” the Unified Fire Authority wrote on Instagram.
The mayhem began with a three-car crash in Herriman, a southwest Salt Lake City suburb, around 10:30 p.m. One vehicle carried a 70-year-old driver and a 72-year-old male passenger. Another vehicle was driven by a teenager with multiple passengers while the third vehicle was driven by a 26-year-old man, local Fox affiliate KSTU reported.
The passengers have not been identified further and authorities have not released any description of the crash. One of the vehicles was engulfed in flames at the scene.
“Two courageous bystanders risked their lives to rescue the driver and passenger from the burning vehicle just moments before it was engulfed in flames,” United Fire wrote on Instagram. “We are grateful for the bravery of the bystanders and the swift, unified response from all emergency personnel.”
No emergency personnel were hospitalized after responding to the scene.
