During a Tuesday cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump responded to a reporter’s question about the announcement of Taylor Swift’s engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce.
“I wish him a lot of luck,” Trump snarked.
Trump, who previously made the dismissive utterance in regard to Prince Harry and his spouse Meghan Markle, quickly amended his statement.
“No, I think he’s a great player, I think he’s a great guy. I think that she’s a terrific person. So I wish them a lot of luck,” Trump added.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement via an Instagram post after two years of dating.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the caption to the post, which includes several photos from the dreamy proposal.
The couple revealed this special occasion two weeks after Swift sat down for her first-ever podcast interview on Kelce’s “New Heights” show, where the singer announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which will debut on Oct. 3.
