Drew Barrymore says Mr. Clean makes her ‘uncomfortable’ because he’s ‘so sexual’

You gotta love a man who cleans – unless you’re Drew Barrymore.

The “Never Been Kissed” actress made headlines on Monday, March 31, after she admitted that the cleaning product’s mascot, Mr. Clean, makes her “uncomfortable” because he is “so sexual.”

Barrymore, 50, shared her thoughts about the Procter & Gamble mascot during the latest episode of her daytime program, “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

“There’s a reason Mr. Clean is so hot, okay?” Barrymore’s co-host, Ross Mathews, quipped during a segment about the number of U.S. adults who get turned on seeing their significant other doing household chores.

“By the way, I have wondered why they have fetishized Mr. Clean,” Barrymore responded, per Entertainment Weekly. “It’s like he is pumped and ready for action, and I feel uncomfortable when I see him because he’s so sexual.”

“Yeah, he’s gonna come over and clean your house, girl,” Mathews, 45, added.

However, that wasn’t the end of the Mr. Clean talk because Barrymore then jumped out of her seat and gave her best impression of the bald mascot dressed in his signature all-white outfit.

“There are commercials where he is mopping with a real swagger!” she exclaimed.

“Yeah,” Mathews interjected, “with a real purpose.”

Former “One Day at a Time” star and regular Drew Crew guest Valerie Bertinelli also participated in the wild discussion about the sexual icon — and made a cheeky confession.

She admitted that while there’s “something very sexy about a man that wants to help you around the house,” there “hasn’t been a man at my house in a long time. She split with boyfriend Mike Goodnough in Nov. following her 2022 divorce from Tom Vitale.

“But if I hear him emptying the dishwasher? I’m getting ready,” Bertinelli, 64, joked. “Just FYI.”

The segment came to an end after Barrymore and her co-hosts polled the show’s audience. According to the survey, 81% agreed that they get turned on by watching their partner doing chores around the house.

“It’s a landslide, honey,” Mathews noted. “I’m not surprised.”

The Mr. Clean segment this week came just days after Barrymore revealed she was ghosted after a recent first date.

According to the “50 First Dates” actress, the mystery suitor stopped answering her after they started texting back and forth following their initial meet-up.

“Since then, I texted him, and I was like, ‘Lovely to see you again the other night,’” she told Mathews and Bertinelli on Monday, March 24. “We went back and forth twice, and then he ended with, ‘Haaaaa.’ And I haven’t heard anything.”

“It just happens,” Barrymore continued. “I don’t know why. I don’t know why. I would never do that. It doesn’t cross my mind to behave like that. Like, if you put a fishing pole in it, why are you not going to follow through?”

“It does happen to all of us — the best of us,” the daytime talk show host added. “Good people who wouldn’t treat other people like that.”

Barrymore split from her ex-husband, Will Kopelman, 46, in 2016. The pair share two daughters: Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10.

She recently revealed she still hasn’t “fully recovered” from the divorce and admitted that “it destroyed me.”
