Two suspects have been arrested for beating and stabbing a 23-year-old man to death near Times Square last month, police said Tuesday.
Paul Ohore, 32, and Alagie Jatta, 29, were nabbed in the Bronx early Tuesday by the NYPD Warrants Squad. They are accused of taking part in the Nov. 24 slaying of Daevon Silva near W. 49th St. and Seventh Ave. in Midtown.
Silva was attacked by three men about 1 a.m., cops said. He was stabbed in the back and right thigh and one of the attackers, wearing a black mask and a purple sweatsuit, beat him with a baseball bat.
Medics rushed Silva to Bellevue Hospital, where he died. He lived in Pawtucket, R.I., according to police.
The three suspects were last seen running downtown on Seventh Ave. before splitting up, cops said.
Ohore and Jatta were charged with murder Tuesday, officials said. The two suspects live in the Bronx, cops said.
The third suspect remains on the loose.
The same intersection in Midtown was the scene of a stabbing three days earlier during a road rage clash that left a 38-year-old man wounded.
It was also one of the last murders police investigated before a record 12-day stretch of no murders across the city began the next day and ended on Dec. 7.
The only other time the city is known to have gone that long with no murders was in 2015, which also saw a 12-day stretch with no homicides.
